Delicious and very special. The chef and owner prepares everything. The space is pleasant and elegant, the back patio is lovely. The food is really memorable, constantly changing menu, very inventive and deliciou, Tuscan haute cuisine. The Tides: Big slick seafood restaurant. Fast service, nice view of the Bay. Their fish market is ok, though Pacific Market is in town and is great. The fishing boats are all there at the pier.

John Ash, the premier winery restaurant. Posh, comfortable and delicious. Must have reservations.Beautiful pool with redwood forest in background.

I agree with this reviewer, it's a fun place to visit, there are a couple of little art galleries and stores in town as well. Great bird houses sold out of the back of a truck for example. The restaurant is located in an old hotel in Valley Ford and the ambiance is simple and pleasant. There is a lively bar in the front room. The food is good, and great appetizers to go with a drink too. Wed night $1. oysters in the half shell.

Cafe Aquatica is located north on the coast, at Jenner. An aquarian hang out, lovely views of the Russian River mouth to the sea along with fresh delicious organic sandwiches, salads, soups and coffee drinks. On the weekend it's a delight to sit outside, watch the water and listen to the Flamenco guitarist play his music for you. More info>>

Fork Roadhouse - Opened in January, 2015. Breakfast and Lunch, Thurs-Sunday, 9 am - 3 pm. Lovely garden overlooking the creek, fresh food by enthusiastic people! In Graton, Willow Wood Market. This is a spot the locals frequent, it's an old grocery store, sort of funky looking, with interesting nic nacs for sale and the food is so delicious...meat, fish, and vegetarian, good wine selection. Across the street is the Underwood, which is a step up in cost, great place to go for oysters, and I recommend it especially if it's a hot day because then you can eat outside on their patio where it is quieter. It is noisy inside. A very active bar where the young and restless hang out in the evening. Open every day but Monday. 707-823-7023

There are several eating and drinking places in the new Barlow, visit the Thursday night Street Fair (July - October) with live entertainment and artisan booths and excitement. Try Woodfour Brewery. small plate meals. Zazu Kitchen and Farm is a favorite with many and has a Michelin star and prices to match.

Terrapin Creek  Local ingredients, tiny and dedicated to organic slow food. They serve local and global cuisines using seasonal and locally sourced ingredients.

HOP MONK - Bistro menu, more casual, a brewery with a good selection of local (and otherwise) beers . Their hamburgers and fries are great. They also have good salads as well as an eclectic selection that appeals to local tastes -- samosas, fish and chips, spinach and pear salad for example. The dark and comfortable booths inside are welcoming and outside there is a lovely patio where live music is often available.

Further away but wonderful within 30 minutes...

Dry Creek Kitchen at the Healdsburg Hotel. This upscale place is located right on the Plaza in Healdsburg. They have jazz and drinks for free during the jazz festival..and other times too! Nice outdoor patio and swimming pool (dinner guests have pool privileges). Lots of chi chi boutiques in the area. Expensive.Go early for window shopping. Great book stores too.

Italian and reasonable, and good food:
Trattoria Cattaneo 2700 Yulupa, Santa Rosa. Drive on Bodega Highway/Hwy 12 to Yulupa, turn right. Family style, friendly, popular and delicious.

Riviera Ristorante Reservations (707-579-2682) 75 Montgomery Drive, Santa Rosa, CA Choose the cozy front patio room or the larger elegant dining room. Great service, reasonable prices and delicious food.

Rivers End  near Jenner on the North coast. Lovely view of the coast, good food, cozy environment, located right on highway one.

Zazu now located in the Barlow. Michelin rated. The desserts are as great as the meals here. Their wine list is one of the best for local Pinot Noirs. Also, on Wed.
